4th of July

Our 4th of July started out bright and early waking up at 5 am to go to Provo for the Balloon fest! My mom flew in from Pennsylvania on Sunday night and was such a good sport for getting up so early with us. Sadly, it was too windy for any of the balloons to go up!!
Here is Blake checking out Smokey Bear with Grandpa!

And as you can see, Brynn still hates Smokey!! This is the closest she would get. The funny thing is that the day before, she was telling us how excited she was to see Smokey and that she loved him...not true!!
My mom and I :)

Then in the afternoon, we had my sister and her family, Uncle Bill, and cousin Dan over for a little BBQ! Cameron and Brynn had a blast swimming in the little pool, and we all had fun eating and playing bocce in the backyard. We had a lot of fun spending time with family, but my kids are suffering today from lack of sleep...they are so grumpy! Hopefully everyone recovers soon!!

Brynn loves holding her cousin Lacy!
All of us minus Blake (he was already in bed)

Stadium of fire

Last week Jesse surprised me with 4 tickets to stadium of fire! We have always wanted to go together, and he bought tickets the day they came out and waited until a few days before to tell me about it. We brought our friends Michelle and Jaron, and had a great time! It was so nice to have a late night out without the kids!!

Lacy Bennie!!

She is finally here!!!! My sister Meredith had her new little girl today! Lacy June Bennie was born at 10:44 this morning, and weighs 7 lbs 1 0z and is 19.5 inches long. Meredith was due on Wed, and scheduled to be induced yesterday. Unfortunately, many other women in Orem decided to go into labor yesterday so she had to wait until today. She was in labor for a total of 3 short hours, and pushed for 7 minutes!! I was lucky enough to be in the delivery room, and loved every minute of it!! There is something so special and amazing about witnessing the birth of a baby, I love it!! All are doing well, and Lacy is soooooooo cute! I can't wait to see more of this little girl :)

Brynn's Hair Cut

So today was Brynn's first "real big girl haircut"! She has had her hair trimmed multiple times, but today we cut a lot of it off. It has gotten so long, and I love it long, but I just thought it would look so much healthier if we cut a few inches off. I also thought a shorter cut would be cut for summer. Here are the before pictures...

Here she is during. My friend Crystal has a salon in her house and she did it for us :)

Here she is after!! I think she looks so pretty and grown up! And Brynn keeps telling me how much she loves her haircut so I guess she loves it too!!

Our Day at The Zoo

So I am now realizing that I didn't take many pictures of the animals at all...but we took a trip to the zoo last Friday and had lots of fun!! I came across some buy 1 get 1 free tickets, so it was a very last minute decision to try to go before school was out and beat the summer crowds! I think all of the kids had fun. Brynn especially loved the elephants and watching the bird show!!

Brynn's Birthday

Brynn loves Dora the Explorer, so I decided to have a little Dora Adventure party for her Birthday. Swiper stole her Birthday cupcakes, so the kids used their maps and backpacks to go find them! First they had to cross Crocodile Lake, but there were holes in the bridge! So they used the shapes that they found in their backpacks to fix the holes. Then we ran into Boots who was missing a boot, and we played "pin the boot on Boots". Then they needed to go through Fiesta Forest, but there was a sleeping monkey outside of the forest that they had to wake up using the whistles in their backpack. Then they headed to Swiper's hideout where they found the cupcakes! It was a lot of effort to put it all together, but the kids seemed to have fun so I think it was worth it!!

Here is the birthday cake that I made for Brynn when we had Jesse's family over a couple nights later.
