We are having twins... well almost!

So my best friend from elementary school (since third grade) and I are both pregnant and are due within a week and a half of each other. What are the chances of that! So I like to say that we are having twins since Crystal is practically family! It has been so fun to have someone to talk to and compare pregnancy stories with. Now it is a race to see who goes into labor first!

Saturday was Crystal's baby shower and 4 out of 5 roomates from our freshman year were finally together again. We were just missing Rachael :( I cannot believe it has been almost 8 years since Cheryl, Crystal, Lori and I all lived together at Raintree in Apt # 204. I am starting to feel so old. It was so fun to see each other again though since our lives are so busy and we don't get together very often anymore.

As you can see, Jesse kept himself very entertained when he came to pick me up at Lori's house after the baby shower. I am pretty sure we sat there talking about pregnancy for almost 2 hours and he stayed happy building things with the blocks. He will make such a great dad!!

Quilting

This weekend we went up to Jesse's cousins house to make a quilt for our little girl! Well, the girls did the quilting while our husbands did fun boy things downstairs (like watching Star Treck). It was lots of fun even though I don't feel like I was much help! I am not a very good quilter, and was tons slower than everyone else. At least I can tell my daughter one day that all of the knots that look terrible were tied by her mom :) And I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, but the front is bright yellow with pink, purple, blue, and orange flowers all over it. Very cute!

Last night's project

Last night Jesse and I decided to organize the baby's room and decorate it a little bit since we only have 5 more weeks until she is due!! We still have a few things to finish up, but I feel much better knowing that it now looks more like a room than a storage closet!

Update

Okay, here are some updated belly pictures. These are for you Niki!! It was kind of funny because I didn't realize how big my tummy was until I looked at the pictures right after Jesse took them. It seemed to stay the same for me after I couldn't see my toes anymore (and who knows when that was). Things are going really well with my pregnancy though. I will be 34 weeks tomorrow and only have 6 more weeks to go until the big due date!! I have resorted to sleeping on the couch the past two nights because I just can't get comfortable at all and this has been a week full of sleepless nights. I am starting to feel like a walking zombie! But besides that I am feeling good and have been lucky to have a fairly easy pregnancy.

I wish I could say that there are other exciting things going on for Jesse and I right now but the truth is our lives are pretty boring. We just go to work, eat dinner, and go to bed. At least that's what it feels like. This weekend is a busy one though so maybe I will have more exciting things to write about next week. We have the big family Easter egg hunt tomorrow, and then we are headed to Wendover for a wedding reception. Tomorrow will be a busy day that's for sure!

Let the countdown begin!!

So I know the one big thing I have been counting down to lately has been my due date, but I have a new countdown now. After today, I only have 5 days left of my internship in the counseling office at Mountain View!! Why is this so exciting you might ask... because as of next Friday I will officially be finished with my masters degree!! This is huge for me because it has been such a big goal of mine for so long!! I have wanted to quit so many times along the way, but have had so much amazing support that I have just kept chugging along. The internship has been a great experience, but it has also been really exhausting to add an extra 3 hours onto my normal 8 hour work day. Especially while being pregnant!! So I am definitely looking forward to only working one job after all of this is over. Thanks to everyone who has been there to encourage me along the way.

Prenatal Class

So Jesse and I started our prenatal class at the hospital last week and it has made things seem a little more real to me. I really do have to give birth in less than 2 months now which is kind of a scary thought! I am pretty sure I cried most of the way home last week because it all seemed too overwhelming and I decided I couldn't handle the whole labor process. Oh the joys of being an emotional basket-case! I was also worrying the whole time about how Jesse was handling all of it because he was NOT at all excited about going to these classes. But I really do appreciate how supportive he has been through all of this... thanks hunny :)

But on a positive note, I was feeling lots better after last nights class. We got a little tour of the hospital, and got to take a little peek at some of the babies in the nursery. Seeing the darling little newborns made me realize how excited I am to have one of my very own. I can wait to have our little girl here and see what she is like. She is going to be a great little addition to our home and I am so excited to be starting our very own family!!

Husband Tag

Ok, I was tagged again by Mckenna this time. These questions are about my husband though so they were fun to answer!

1. What is his name? Jesse Arlo Shelley

2. How long have you been married? about 1 year and 8 months

3. How long did you date? On and off for almost 2 years before we got married

4. How old is he? 25... which he is loving right now since I am 26. But he will catch up with me next month!

5. Who eats more sweets? I DO for sure!!

6. Who said I love you first? He did, although it took me a few days to realize that he actually said he loved me.

7. Who is taller? Jesse is by about 9 inches

8. Who can sing better? He would say I do... and I like to sing a lot more than he does but he sings just fine too.

9. Who is smarter? Jesse! Well, we are probably about equal, just each smarter in different areas.

10. Who does the laundry? We each do our own right now, but I am sure that will change when I am staying home and being a mom one day.

11. Who pays the bills? Me, I am incharge of all of the money :)

12. Who sleeps on the right side? I do, and I pretty much take up all of the bed these days!

13. Who mows the lawn? Jesse usually does since I can't get our lawn mower started without his help. It's old and takes more muscles than I have to get started.

14. Who cooks dinner? We usually cook dinner together, or whoever gets home first makes it. We like to do it together though :)

15. Who drives? Jesse always drives when we are together because he is a lot safer and I would rather sit and relax.

16. Who kissed who first? He kissed me after we watched all 3 Back to the Future movies in a row!

17. Who asked who out first? Actually, neither one of us asked each other out on our first date. Jesse, Jeff (my brother in law), and their friend Jarid all just kind of planned a group date and Jeff told me about it.

18. Who proposed? Jesse... but I probably would have if he waited much longer :)

19. Who has more siblings? Jesse does. He has 3 and I have 2.

20. Who wears the pants? I do, but sometimes I let him think that he is in charge!

Ok, now I am going to tag Melissa, Mer, Linley, and Tiffini. Have fun!

A Day In Flight

So Jesse and I decided to go for a quick flight on Saturday afternoon since we were down in Spanish Fork near the airport and they just happened to have one catana available that we could take up. The goal was to fly up to AF and take some aerial shots of our house... but it was a very windy day which made for a VERY bumpy flight and the camera was shaking so much that we couldn't really see what we were taking pictures of. But we did get one semi-good one of our neighborhood. I guess I forgot how much you can feel in the little planes and how sensitive my pregnant stomach is. I was definitely feeling pretty sick by the time we were done! Jesse was even feeling a little sick in the stomach too which made me feel a little less pathetic! So needless to say, the next time we go up will not be on a day when a cold front is coming in and the air is rough. But I guess it could be a good way to put me into labor if I am over-due!! I just love flying with my husband though. He is such a good pilot and I love listening to him talk to the other pilots and air traffic contol using flight talk and code :)
