The end is finally in sight!

So I decided I should probably give a little pregnancy update since people keep telling me that they keep checking my blog to see if I've had the baby yet. No, I haven't had her yet. But the good news is that there are only 4 more days till my due date! Not that she will come on time... but we are hoping she does. My doctor seemed pretty confident last week that I would go into labor on my on and wouldn't have to be induced so we'll see if he is right. I have another appointment today so I am kind of anxious to see how things are looking. It is so strange to wake up every morning and wonder if today will be the day. So I will keep you posted, and hopefully my next post will be announcing the birth of a baby! Oh, and here's a recent pregnancy shot so you can see how I am looking these days...BIG!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSE!!!!!

Today is my cute husband's 26th birthday and I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNNY!!! I love him so much, and I especially love this day because it means he has finally caught up to me in age (I am a few months older). We had a great morning together eating waffles with strawberries and whipped cream at 4:45 am! And I can't wait for a fun filled evening. We are going to Wingers (his favorite) for dinner, and then to the driving range. And of course to 7-eleven for slurpee's on the way home.

Saturday Yard Work

This past Saturday Jesse did some yardwork at his grandpa's house and I decided to try to help a little bit. I am sure I looked pretty funny trying to throw huge branches around being so big and pregnant (and apparently it was funny enough for Jesse to want to take pictures of me... so I took some of him too).

Baby Showers

Here is a recent picture of Crystal, Erica, and I at my baby shower this past Saturday. You probably wouldn't guess that Crystal is due 1st since she is the smallest! But it's kind of fun that the 3 of us PA girls are all due within a week and a half of each other. We'll see who goes first :)

Yesterday some friends at work had a little baby shower for me. It was lots of fun and good to get advice from a few experienced moms! I am so lucky to work with such great people... something I will really miss when I leave this place one of these days!

It's that time of year again!

So those of you who know me are probably well aware that one of my favorite things in life is going to yard sales!! Well, I am happy to say that yard sale season is officially starting again which makes me a very happy girl. I don't know what it is, but something about getting a great deal makes me feel really good inside. In the summer, I am usually up and out the door by 7 am to hit up all the good sales I can find. So now I need to get as much in as I can before the baby is born. And now that Jesse doesn't work on Saturdays anymore, he can go with me too. We got up early yesterday and went and got some good stuff. I of course got mostly baby things and some scrapbooking supplies, while Jesse got a grill cover (which fits our new grill perfectly), some kind of saw, and some snorkel gear for us. We had a great morning, and I am looking forward to a lot more yard sale fun over these next few months!

Who knew a "snot sucker" could be so much fun!

Last night Jesse's family had a baby shower for me and I thought it was hilarious that his favorite present was the little "snot sucker". After discovering that he could shoot little pieces of tissue paper clear across the room with it, he was like "yes, I can't wait to have a baby!!" I never knew that little thing could be so entertaining. Maybe I should get him his very own for his birthday next week!
Oh, and Jesse has also started a little contest with our families to have them all guess when the baby will be born, and how big she is going to be. He has been telling all of them that the winner gets to pick her name. The funny thing is that part of him is completely serious about it. I know we have been struggling in the name department, but I am pretty sure we won't have to resort to having the winner of a contest name our child :)

Let the Sleepless Nights Begin...

So I decided after last night that my nights of sleeping peacefully have come to an end!! On Wednesday morning I was up at 3 am and never went back to sleep after that, and then last night I was awake from about 12:30 am until 5:15 am, and then managed to sleep sitting up for about an hour after that. I have been getting this terrible back pain on my right side when I lay down that just won't go away at night! Last night I moved from my bed to the couch in the living room, then back to my bed where I tried using a heating pad, and then to the couch in the family room. When I finally decided that I wasn't going to fall asleep again I watched 4 episodes of full house on Nick at Night, and just sat there uncomfortably until Jesse got up for work. The worst part was the fact that I had to come to work after all of that and now I feel like a zombie!! Jesse suggested this morning that we buy a recliner which is starting to sound like a really good idea. If only we had some spare cash :) I just keep telling myself that this is a blessing in disguise and when the baby comes, I will be a pro at those sleepless nights!

An attempt at April Fools jokes

I have never really been good at playing tricks on people... especially on my husband because he can see right through my lies (which is probably a good thing). But I decided that I wanted to play some kind of trick on him for April Fools day yesterday. I knew it needed to be something believable that would freak him out just for a minute. So it worked out perfectly that I just happened to have a doctor's appointment yesterday and it was the first time my doctor was checking me to see if I am making any progress towards delivery. I decided to tell Jesse that the baby was probably going to come really early because I thought that would make him really nervous. So as soon as he got home, I told him that we would probably be having a baby a lot sooner than we thought. Then I told him that I was 5 cm dilated, and 95% effaced, and that the doctor didn't think I would make it longer than a week. Instead of freaking out like I thought, Jesse came over and gave me a big hug and said "Good job Hun, I knew she would come early!" So I told him right away that I was kidding, and was really only 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. But at least I am making a little progress :)

Jesse had also planned on playing a joke on me, but it didn't quite work out. He called my doctors office on his lunch break to see if the doctor would tell me that he found a second heartbeat and that I was really having twins! The receptionist did some investigating for him and talked to my doctor, but they couldn't do it because of all of the privacy laws (thank goodness). I think that would have given me a heart attack! But it was a good effort on his part.
